Church Women United (CWU) was organized as a unit in Columbia in 1945 and has been "letting our light shine" for 60 Years! The national movement of CWU was organized in 1941.
CWU is an amazing ecumenical movement of women - at local , state and national levels -- committed to living our Christian faith in consecrated action for justice and peace, sharing in worship, prayer, song and celebration across the generations, and spreading a global table of generous hospitality.
CWU, grounded in the strength of its years of history since 1941, continues to develop cutting edge Celebrations resources. Not without critique, CWU chooses to be on the forefront of exploring women's spirituality in its multi-faceted richness.
We are a racially, culturally and theologically diverse, yet inclusive, movement. A grand and diverse God created a grand and diverse people & in CWU we passionately live out that possibility.
